Hide private photos and videos from prying eyes
NQ Vault is an excellent app if you have private photos or videos on your phone that you don't want others to see.
Hide iPhone photos and videos
With NQ Vault you can easily move your sensitive or personal photos into a private, password-protected album. You just mark the photos from the album that you want to hide, and they will appear in a viewer in Vault, which you can only access with a password. You can also hide your Facebook messages by chatting through Vault instead.
For extra protection for your photos you can use Vault Camera. This is a camera app within Mobile Vault that takes photos and automatically adds them to the vault. This means that the photos will never be exposed to the public, not even just for a few seconds.
Then there is a new feature called Vault Gallery, which allows you to share photos or see images from other Vault members of for ten seconds before they are deleted. This is a similar concept to Snapchat, which lets you send photos and messages to friends and then deletes them ten seconds after they have seen them.
There's no need to be paranoid about others discovering the contents of your vault, or even discovering that you have a vault at all thanks to some neat features in the premium version of this app! Upgrade (done in-app) and you'll get a feature called Secure Camera, which uses the main camera of your phone to unlock a hidden password entry keypad (done by running your hand over the lens).
Another cool premium feature is Break-in Attempts, which takes a photograph of anyone who enters the wrong password, so you can see who has been trying to spy on you. Obviously, this image is protected in the vault, too.
NQ Vault includes a smart Fake Vault feature in its paid version. Using this, if someone finds out you've been hiding stuff and wants you to reveal all, you can use this fake Vault (by entering a second password) which won't show your secret photos and videos. Also in the premium version is Vault Online, which encrypts your data and stores it securely in the cloud.
Limitations over Android version
The iOS version of NQ Vault isn't quite as fully featured as the premium version of Vault for Android. The Android version allows you to add other things to the vault, such as contacts, messages, and even call logs. Given the more closed nature of the iPhone OS, it's unlikely that we'll see these features added to the app for iOS, but we can hope!
Good overall security
NQ Vault for iOS is all about keeping your photos and videos private and it does that really well with lots of great features, but it would be nice to see the app upgraded to match the Android version.
